Timber carcassing is usually graded as either C24 or C16.C16 timber is strong enough for use as most studwork, joists, and wall plates.C24 timber is of higher quality and can typically handle higher loads and wider spans.With both grades if you cut the span it will lose strength grading if it's sawn in its cross-section, and will need to be re-graded before use. The timber is also planed and regularised, leaving it with a smooth finish, consistent section sizes and eased edges. This product is Kiln Dried meaning it has been heated to ensure it has a low moisture level, resulting in the timber weighing less and having increased strength properties and durability. The main applications for this product are for joists, the construction of roofs, walls and floors, amongst others.
